serenity in bloom

I wish I could have invited you into my morning meditation!  At the very least I can share the view.  This little patch of gloriosity lives in my backyard, inviting me to remember my innate joy (as the flowers are so clearly doing).

I answered the invite.  I sat down, set my timer, and let myself drop into something profoundly deep—that kind of “nature deep” that speaks a language beyond words.

Nature often does that.  I’m not being woo-woo—it’s science.  Study after study highlights the calming, regulating power of trees, flowers, and all things green-and-blooming.  According to a Harvard study, “flowers feed compassion” and “chase away anxieties, worries, and the blues at home.”

There’s probably something even bigger that our brains can’t quite name, but an ancient aliveness inside us absolutely recognizes it.  Mine sure did!

I invite you to find your own luxuriant natural spot, and access your own ineffable ahhh.  Why not today?

Stand still.
The trees ahead and the bushes beside you are not lost.
