sweat now, shrug later
On our way to work out, my son—philosophy major/half-Ironman-in-training—dropped a wisdom bomb about pain.
Basically, he considers it context-related: if you’re deep into an ultra-marathon, with many hours to (mindfully) manage, and a week later Fred from HR throws some passive-aggressive shade, you probably won’t even notice.
Yep. If we train our bodies and minds to handle actual pain, things like office (or family) drama feel like background noise.
If our world is small, small stuff feels big.
If our world is big, pain loses the spotlight.
