why wait?

People often seek mindfulness for stress relief, which is a lot like going to a delicious, unlimited smorgasbord and only adding roasted carrots to their plate. Oh, I LOVE roasted carrots! But I don’t only love roasted carrots. I want much more to savor and bask in than one item, however colorful and delicious it may be.

Our culture invites this single-carrot game plan. Most of what gets marketed as mindfulness is about coping strategies, because we humans have heroically normalized stress. At some level, we’ve all subconsciously agreed that stress is “just unavoidable.” (PSA: today’s stress is NOT normal, despite its ubiquity.)

So, I keep reiterating that mindfulness, at its core, reintroduces us to our true, unchangeable joy. Joy never went away, it’s just hard to see through that thick layer of our daily habits...our addiction to urgency, our loyalty to should, and our proneness to auto-judge every little thing in polar terms (good/bad, right/wrong).

How perfect that we’re covering some surprisingly easy tips to vaporize that layer in the upcoming class,
Remembered! It’s not about self-improvement, or “self-care.” It’s simply a science-backed way to help you notice what has been there all along (your seven-year-old self still remembers...they’ll be so happy to have you back!)

The four sessions begin next Wednesday evening, January 28th, and I sincerely hope you join us! (Please
let me know if you want a to join, but money is tight...I have some no-cost spots so everyone is included. Nobody in the class will know, but your happiness level sure will!)
