the universe is expanding...and you?

I don't mean that post-lunch, wow-my-pants-are-tight kind of expanding.  I mean mentally, spiritually, heartfully.  Recently, I read how Einstein panicked as he faced the idea that the universe was expanding rather than static!  And not a little: he did all all sorts of mathematical gymnastics to wrestle the cosmos back into a stable box.  He even inserted math tricks like a "cosmological constant," to keep his known universe politely in place.  (Spoiler alert: the universe did not comply.)

Ironically, one of THE MOST revolutionary minds in human history could not, for quite a while, accept that reality was more than he'd imagined...that space itself could be in motion...that growth is the default setting.

It made me wonder how often do I do that.  How many times do I insist  on clinging to my story lines like flotation devices?  Am I really resisting the next level of myself?  If the entire cosmos is stretching and unfolding, who am I not to expand right along with it?

Maybe the real brilliance isn't in "knowing," but the willingness to "unknow"...and make space!
